6-Ingredient Chocolate Covered Berry Bites (Plus 13 Grams of Collagen)
As a kid, I remember my dad would bring my mom roses and a box of Godiva chocolates for every special occasion. Her favorite was always the dark chocolate truffle with a raspberry creme filling. While those are delicious and nostalgic, they are full of added sugar and preservatives.
I decided to surprise my mom the other day by recreating her favorite treat, just with a healthier twist. These 6-Ingredient Chocolate Berry Bites provide all that decadent chocolate truffle flavor but are packed full of antioxidants and bone-boosting collagen.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Only 6 Ingredients: One of my favorite parts about this recipe is that it only takes 6 ingredients—many of which are superfoods brimming with health benefits.
- Nutrient Dense: One of the superfoods, chia seeds, are loaded with magnesium, manganese, and phosphorus, which are great for bone and cardiovascular health (1).
- 13 Grams of Collagen Protein: Collagen can help reduce joint pain, increase bone density, fill fine lines and wrinkles, promote heart health, strengthen nails, boost hair growth, and potentially boost muscle mass (2, 3, 4, 5).
Here’s What You Need
- Silicone Ice Tray: To make these bites, you’ll need a silicone ice tray so that you can freeze the bites into perfect squares and effortlessly pop them out of the mold.
- Strawberries: To give the bites a sweet flavor and immune-boosting vitamin C.
- Raspberries: To add a tangy contrast and plenty of antioxidants to help reduce inflammation.
- Dark Chocolate Hu Gems: To satisfy your chocolate cravings—without dairy, fillers, or added sugar.
- NativePath Collagen: To provide 13 grams of protein, 19 different amino acids, and joint-protecting collagen.
- Chia Seeds: To help thicken the berry mixture and provide a boost of filling fiber.
- Coconut Oil: To help the chocolate melt evenly and form a shiny, solid shell when cooled.
- Flaky Sea Salt: To add a salty contrast and bring out the flavors of each ingredient—plus a healthy bit of sodium.
